Dahlonega, GA - Cal State Fullerton's Deidre Crabtree and Taylor Fowler combined to finish in a tie for 17th place Thursday after the third and final round of the 2011 Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Golf Championship at Achasta, By Reynolds.
The Titans shot a combined 150 today for a total of 291 after an alternate shot score of 74 on Tuesday and a best-ball score of 67 yesterday. Par was 72 for a total of 288. There were a total of 55 teams competing.
Lindsey Solberg and Caroline Powers from Michigan State rode a 1-under-par 143 to a one shot victory at 12-under-par 276. Vanderbilt's Marina Alex and Lauren Stratton had a one shot lead going into the 18th hole, but they carded two bogeys falling into a second place tie with Virginia's Elizabeth Brightwell and Portland Rosen. Both second place teams shot an even par 144 for the aggregate score final round to finish the tournament at eleven-under-par each.
Chelsea Harris/Christie Cardwell of the University of Iowa shot the low round of the day shooting a 6-under-par 138. The strong finish helped the Hawkeye tandem jump into fourth place with a final score of nine-under-par.
Crabtree teamed with Kristen Aiu last year and finished in a tie for 40th place.
