PALM DESERT, Calif. – At the completion of two rounds at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate, Cal State Fullerton women's golf is in sixth place after shooting a 50-over par 626.
Sophomore Courtney Sharkey leads the team individually at 9-over par 153 to place her tied for 13th. Sharkey began the tournament shooting a 74 in round one and followed up with a 79 in round two.
Pauline Welker and Felicia Medalla are tied for 20th after shooting a 13-over par 157 on day one. Welker shot a 79 in round one and improved in the second round, finishing with a 78. Medalla shot a 77 in round two to improve from tied for 37th after shooting an 8-over par 80 in round one. Medalla, however, is competing as an individually and her scores do not count towards the Titans team score.
Britney Sok is tied for 25th with a score of 14-over par 158. Sok shot a 81 in the first round and a 77 in round two. Elsa Lundquist is placed tied for 33rd at 16-over par 160 after shooting a 78 and 82.
After shooting a 79 in round one and a 82 in the second round, Lisa Djerf is tied for 39th at 17-over par 161. Texie Petchel is tied for 43rd after shooting a 18-over par 162 with a 80 and a 82 in round two. Petchel is also competing as an individual.
The Titans are paired with CSUN, Southern Utah and Wyoming for the final round with the first group teeing off at 7:30 PT Sunday morning.
