FRESNO, Calif. – Elsa Lundquist earned the best finish of her collegiate career with a new career-low score of 216 at even par to place her fifth at the Fresno State Classic Tuesday afternoon.
Lundquist finished the final two rounds of the tournament strong with a 1-under par 71 in both rounds two and three. The sophomore was in 12th place at the conclusion of one round after shooting a 2-over par 74 but her improvements in the final rounds led to her moving up seven spots.
"This tournament is a great indication of all the hard work Elsa has put into her game," said Head Coach Kathryn Hosch. "She has made minor improvents in various ares, making her a very diverse player. This is only the beginning."
As a team, the Titans secured a sixth place finish with a score of 38-over par 902. Much like Lundquist, the Titans as team moved up in the standings in the final two rounds after finishing the first round of the tournament tied for eighth place.
Freshman Courtney Sharkey finished second on the Titans squad individually with a tied for 22nd place finish while tying her career-best score of 227. Sharkey finished 11-over par while setting a career-best low round of 72.
Lou Daniella Uy finished tied for 26th place with a 12-over par 228 after shooting a 4-over par 76 in each of the three rounds of the tournament.
Pauline Welker earned a tied for 31st place finish at 15-over par 231. Welker shot a 78 in both rounds one and three while shooting a 75 in round two. Brittany Farrell finished tied for 42nd place with a 19-over par 235.
Fullerton returns to the greens March 19-20 at the Sacramento State Invitational at the Sierra View Country Club in Roseville, Calif.
