ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Martina Edberg fired a tournament-low 4-under-par 68 during the second round of play at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional on Tuesday at The Championship Golf Course, moving up 12 spots on the leaderboard.
Edberg, currently tied for second in the standings with a two-round score of 3-under-par-141, will tee off at 8:15 a.m. MT (7:15 a.m. PT) on Wednesday for the third and final round of play.
Edberg, competing as one of six individuals in the Regional, birdied six times and shot even par on 10 holes. She has totaled eight birdies over the last two days.
The senior is competing in her third consecutive NCAA Regional.
A total of 384 participants are participating in regional competition. Of these players, 132 will advance to the championships finals. Six teams and three individuals will advance from each regional.
Edberg is currently the top individual on the leaderboard as Gonzaga's Bianca Pagdanganan trails her by one stroke. Stanford's Albane Valenzuela leads all players with a two-round score of 140 (-4).
The national championships will be May 19-24 at Rich Harvest Farms, in Sugar Grove, Illinois, hosted by Northern Illinois University. The final three days of the championship will be televised live by the Golf Channel.
