PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico --- Senior Martina Edberg is two shots off the lead at the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational, while Cal State Fullerton remains in ninth place after the second round of play at El-Tigre Golf Club on Monday.
For the second-straight day, Edberg shot an even par round of 72, bringing her two-day score to 144 (E), as she sits in second place behind Kennesaw State's Dulcie Sverdloff. Sverdloff fired a second round score of 3-under-par 69 and her two-round total of 142 (-2) leads the field.
Wisconsin fired the best team score of the day at 287, moving up three spots in the standings to lead the field after two rounds of play with a score of 10-over-par 586. The Badgers are followed by Texas San Antonio (+15, 591), Washington (+17, 593), Kansas (+20, 596), Kennesaw State (+23, 599), Coastal Carolina (+25, 601), Indiana (+29, 605), Ole Miss (+31, 607), Cal State Fullerton (+32, 608), New Mexico State (+34, 610), Idaho (+36, 612), Rutgers (+36, 612), Iowa (+38, 614), and Nebraska (+43, 619).
Junior Daniella Uy shot 5-over-par 77 to bring her two-round score to 151 (+7) as she is tied for 27th on the leaderboard.
Freshman Elsa Lundquist moved up 12 spots and is tied for 50th on the leaderboard after firing a second-round score of 2-over-par 74, bringing her two-round total to 156 (+12).
Sophomore Pauline Welker shot 6-over-par 78 as she is tied at 55th on the leaderboard with a two round score of 157 (+13).
Competing as an individual, sophomore Felicia Medalla improved on her first round score by six shots, firing a second-round score of 81 (+9) as her two-round total of 168 (+24) has her in 76th place.
Sophomore Brittney Sok shot an 88 (+16) in the second round is in 79th place with a two-round score of 179 (+35).
The third and final round of play is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT (6:30 a.m. PT).
