Battle at the Rock Final Results
RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Senior Martina Edberg and sophomore Pauline Welker each opened the spring season with top-5 finishes with the conclusion of the Battle at the Rock hosted by UC Riverside Tuesday at Oak Quarry Golf Club.
Edberg logged her fifth straight top-5 finish of the season after finishing the tournament with a 5-over 221. She finished five strokes back of medalist Sofia Anokhina of Northern Arizona, who finished the 54-hole event with an even-par 216 including a 72 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Pauline Welker recorded the first top-5 finish of her career after finishing in a tie for third place, carding a 7-over 223 after a 5-over 77 in round three. Welker's score finished two back of her career best 221 set at the WSU Cougar Classic in September.
Brittany Farrell finished the tournament in a tie for 12th place with a 10-over 226. Farrell carded a 3-over 75 on Tuesday.
As for the Titans, the team carded a collective 23-over 311 on Tuesday to finish in 10th place at 64-over for the tournament. Cal Poly earned the team title with a 39-over 903, six strokes better than runner-up Hawai'i.
Daniella Uy finished the tournament tied for 56th (+26) while Elsa Lundquist was close behind in a tie for 62nd (+27). Felicia Medalla rounded out the Titans team scoring at 37-over.
Fullerton will return to the links on Feb. 27 at the Bruin Wave Invitational in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
