Edberg Nabs Big West Conference Golfer of the Month Award

IRVINE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton senior Martina Edberg was named the Big West Conference Golfer of the Month for September, the conference announced Friday.

It is the third career golfer of the month award for Edberg, who recorded consecutive victories in the month of September at the WSU Cougar Cup and the Rose City Collegiate.

Edberg has now won six tournaments in her Titans career and recorded 37 rounds of par or better, both school records. She set a new 54-hole school and course record with a 10-under 206 at the 6,200-yard Washington State Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash.  Her seven-stroke WSU Cougar Cup victory was facilitated by a 6-under 66 in round three.  Her first two rounds featured a 72 and 68.

The Rose City Collegiate featured a steady Edberg who carded rounds of 70, 70 and 72 to finish with a winning score of 4-under 212.  She edged Poy Prasurtwong of Southern Utah and Sofie Babic of Sacramento State by one stroke at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Ore.

The Titans get back on the links on Monday, Oct. 10 when Fullerton travels to the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Lakewood, Wash.
