FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton will play five tournaments out of state including all four of its fall tournaments as head coach Pearl Sinn-Bonanni released the 2016-17 schedule on Thursday.

"We are very pleased with our new recruits and are anxiously preparing for the new season," Bonanni said. "Our focus will be to maintain the highest level of commitment and professionalism from the coaches all the way down to the players.  We believe this will help return the team to its successful seasons as we had at the re-launch years of the program in 2009-2010."

The Titans open the season on Sept. 19 when they head to Pullman, Wash. for the WSU Cougar Cup hosted by Washington State at Palouse Ridge Golf Club. Last year, Fullerton notched a top-10 team finish; placing sixth overall while Martina Edberg recorded a 3-under 213 to finish second on the individual leaderboard. At that tournament, Edberg set the new Cal State Fullerton single-round scoring record, notching a 7-under 65 in the second round.

One week later, Fullerton goes down the Pacific coastline to play in the Rose City Collegiate hosted by Portland State in Aurora, Ore. It is a return trip for the Titans after skipping the tournament last year. The Titans won both the team title and individual medalist honors in the 2014 event.

On Oct. 10, the Titans head to the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational hosted by Seattle University at Tacoma Golf and Country Club in Lakewood, Wash. In 2015, the Titans closed out their fall schedule at the event, placing sixth overall in the team standings. Brittany Farrell led the way for the Titans, placing 15th overall, recording her first top-20 finish of the year and third of her career.

Fullerton wraps the fall portion of its schedule with their furthest road trip of the 2016-17 season, a trek to Ridgeway Country Club in Germanwood, Tenn. to partake in the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Memphis University.

Following the winter break, the Titans return to action in the spring to participate in the Battle at the Rock hosted by UC Riverside at Oak Quarry Golf Course on Feb. 13.

A couple of weeks later, the Titans will take part in the Bruin Wave Invitational co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.

One year after posting a third-place team finish at the rain-shortened Fresno State Classic, the Titans return to San Joaquin Country Club on March 13 for their third tournament of the spring and seventh of the season. Edberg posted a fourth-place finish at the event last season; one of her four top-5 finishes of the 2015-16 season.

The following week, Fullerton heads further into Northern California to participate in the Sacramento State Invitational on March 20. The Titans then wrap up the regular season schedule on April 2 with a trip south of the border to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to play in the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational hosted by Iowa at El Tigre Golf Club.

On April 23, the Titans will head to Oak Quarry Golf Club for the second time as they take part in the Big West Conference Championships.

Fullerton returns five players from its 2015-16 squad, including Edberg. The Glumslov, Sweden native enters her senior year with the program already holding records for best single round score (65), lowest 54-hole (211) and 36-hole (139) scores along with lowest scoring average in a season (73.34, 2015-16) and in a career (74.17, 2013-present). Her 31 rounds of par or better in her career are also the most in the program's history with her 11 rounds of par or better in 2015-16 breaking her own single-season mark. She has recorded four wins in her career including the 2013-14 Big West Individual title and has 21 top-20 finishes, second only to Tisha Alyn Abrea's 24 top-20 results.

Farrell comes into her junior year having played in 16 of 18 tournaments during her two seasons at Fullerton. She has a 77.06 career scoring average and has posted 34 rounds in the 70s, including a career-best 72 last season. She has four top-20 finishes in her career.

Sophomores Felicia Medalla, Brittney Sok and Pauline Welker all return after getting a lot of playing time as freshmen. All three played in at least five tournaments last season with Medalla posting the second best scoring average on the team last year, a 77.39 average in eight tournaments.

Joining the returners will be incoming freshmen Elsa Lundquist and Ashley Hisa along with junior transfer Daniella Uy from Gonzaga. Uy joins the Titans after playing the last two seasons for the Bulldogs. She played 50 rounds in two years and posted a 77.66 scoring average.
