Titans Hold Steady and Edberg Remains in Contention at Big West Championships

Big West Conference Championships Round 2 Results

KAPALUA, Hawaii - Cal State Fullerton remained in seventh while junior Martina Edberg ended the second round in the top-10 at the Big West Conference Championships hosted by the University of Hawai'i Monday at the Kapalua Bay Course.

The Titans shot a 32-over 320 in Monday's second round, putting their 36-hole total to a 68-over 644. Fullerton sits in seventh place after two rounds, 29 strokes back of Cal Poly, which maintained its day-one lead with a 310 in the second round. The Mustangs have shot a 39-over 615 through 36 holes, three strokes up on UC Riverside and seven ahead of third-place Long Beach State.

As for Edberg, the junior is tied for sixth place in the 40-player field after posting a 7-over 79 on day two. She sits at 9-over for the tournament with 18 holes left to play, trailing leader Kassidy Teare of Long Beach State by just six strokes.

Felicia Medalla posted the best score amongst the Titans competitors on Monday, posting a 5-over 77 in round two. She is tied for 25th at 17-over going into the final day.

Brittany Farrell was the third and last Titans player to shoot in the 70s in round two, matching Edberg's 7-over 79. She has shot a 19-over 163 through 36 holes, placing her in a tie for 27th.

Pauline Welker rounded out the Titans team scoring, shooting a 13-over 85 on Monday. Brittany Sok posted a 14-over 86 in round two.

The Big West Championships will conclude Tuesday with a shotgun start slated for 10:30 a.m. PT.
