Titans Tied For Sixth after First Round at Fresno State Classic

Fresno State Classic Day One Results

FRESNO, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton sits in a tie for sixth place after the conclusion of the first round Monday at the Fresno State Classic hosted by Fresno State at the San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno, Calif.

The opening day was originally scheduled for 36 holes of play, but rain in the morning caused the elimination of one of the rounds of play and turned the Fresno State Classic into a 36-hole tournament.

The Titans posted a 12-over 300 in the opening round, 14 strokes back of round-one leader Fresno State. Boise State (+5), Santa Clara (+7), New Mexico State (+10) and Georgetown (+11) round out the top five teams after the first round of play.

On the individual side, Martina Edberg paced the Titans with a 2-over 74 in the first round. She is currently tied for 12th place, seven strokes behind Santa Clara's Annie Freeman, who leads the 82-player field after shooting a 5-under 67 in round one.

Felicia Medalla, fresh off her best finish in her Titans career at The Gold Rush, was solid again Monday as she carded a 3-over 75, putting her in a tie for 19th place.

Fellow freshman Brittany Sok also carded a 3-over 75 on Monday while Nadine Rivera rounded out the Titans team scoring, finishing with a 4-over 76.

Brittany Farrell sits in a tie for 38th place after round one, carding a 5-over 77 after 18 holes.

The Titans will return to action Tuesday with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
