LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- After making run at the single-round record on Monday, the Cal State Fullerton women's golf team ran into trouble in the second round on Tuesday, falling to seventh place after 36 holes at the 14th annual Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico State.

The Titans, who stood in a tight group at 5-over-par as a team after the opening round, finished with a 13-over-par 301 on Tuesday to drop four spots on the leader board. Fullerton is two shots back of Boise State for sixth, three back of Idaho and Cincinnati in fourth, and 10 behind third-place Nevada. UC Irvine, which shot a 1-under-par 287 on Tuesday, leads the tournament at 1-over-par (577).

The biggest mover of the day for the Titans was junior Makayla Mier, who rebounded from a first-round 78 to shoot a 2-under-par 70 on Tuesday and jump 28 spots into a tie for 19th at 4-over (148). It is a career-low for Mier, besting her previous low of 74 shot at the Washington State Cougar Cup last season, and is the first career round at par or better for her since transferring to Cal State Fullerton.

Mier finished the day with birdies on holes four and 11 while playing even the rest of the way.

Junior Tisha Alyn Abrea, who shot a school record 69 in the opening round to place second after 18 holes, ran into trouble on day two with four bogeys and a pair of double bogeys to finish at 6-over for day and stand in a tie for 15th overall with a 3-over-par 147. She is joined there by freshman teammate Martina Edberg, who was 5-over (77) for the day after a first-round 70 that had her in a tie for third.

Seri Lee shot a second-consecutive round of 76 and is currently tied for 41st with an 8-over-par 152, while Kate Cho fired a second-round 80 and it tied for 70th at 17-over to round out the Titans line up.

Sophomore Dakota Brown, competing as an individual, is tied for 52nd after shooting a career-low 74 on Tuesday, standing at 11-over (155) for the tournament.
