AURORA, Ore. -- Hampered by heavy winds and rainy conditions throughout the round, the Cal State Fullerton women's golf team ended the first round of the 2013 Rose City Collegiate in 11th place at the Langdon Farms Golf Course in Aurora, Ore., on Monday.

Torrential rains in the Portland area forced the closure of the course on Sunday, preventing practice rounds, as more than six inches of rain has fallen in the last four days. Due to the weather, the tournament has been shortened to 36 holes and will conclude with the final round on Tuesday morning (Oct. 1) beginning at 8 a.m.

The Titans, who won the tournament in 2012, trail team leader Oregon State by 22 shots after a first-round 315 that has left them at 27-over after the first 18 holes. They are in a tighly-bunched group that has them only seven shots out of the top five. The Beavers shot a 5-over-par 293 to lead Gonzaga and UC Irvine, which tied for second with an 11-over 299.

Junior Tisha Alyn Abrea leads Fullerton individually with an opening round 75, tied for 10th place at 3-over for the day. She is six shots back of Oregon State's Anica Yoo, who shot an opening round 69 to stand at 3-under and lead San Francisco's Emelie Lundstrom and UC Irvine's Luciane Lee by two shots.

Junior Makalya Mier is in a tie for 40th after the first 18 holes with a 7-over, 79, while freshman Martina Edberg is in a tie for 47th, one shot back of her teammate. Juniors Seri Lee (t50th, +9) and Kate Cho (82nd, +16) round out the Fullerton lineup.
