Feb. 12, 2007

FULLERTON, CA - Cal State Fullerton senior forward Charlee Underwood earned a share of the Big West Conference women's basketball player of the week award on Monday afternoon, two days after notching a pair of double-doubles to help the Titans to come-from-behind victories over Pacific and Cal State Northridge.

Underwood won the league's weekly award for the first time in her impressive Titans career and became the second Fullerton player to earn the honor this season, joining teammate Toni Thomas, who has been named player of the week twice.

The San Francisco native averaged 21.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game last weekend as the Titans posted a six-point win over the Tigers and a seven-point triumph over the Matadors after trailing at the half of both games.

Against Pacific, Underwood's three-pointer capped a 9-0 run that put the Titans in control en route to the win. She finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the game while hitting on 8-of-14 from the field while playing in all 40 minutes for the fifth time this season.

Two night's later, Underwood notched her fourth double-double in her last five games with a 24-point, 10-rebound outing against Cal State Northridge, hitting a three-pointer to cap a 10-0 run in the second half that put Fullerton ahead for good.

The Titans close out their Big West schedule with four games on the road beginning on Thursday night (Feb. 15) at UC Irvine. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.
