FULLERTON, Calif. - Coming off the 2020 spring semester, Titans Athletics had the best academic semester ever with a cumulative GPA of 3.32. Student-Athletes who are flourishing away from their field of play will continued to be honored through Student Spotlight of the Week. Our first honoree is women's basketball senior Carolyn Gill.
A native of Oakland, Gill is deeply involved in Titans Athletics and the Cal State Fullerton community. She is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and team representative. This year she has also taken on the responsibility of managing SAAC's social media accounts. Gill is a two-time member of the Athletics Equity Committee, a group that works with the SWA Meredith Basil on ensuring that athletics department is equitable in all facets. She also was the Athletics representative for Campaign Congress during the 2018-19 academic year.
She was an intern with the CSUF Strategic Communications and Brand Management Department in 2018-19. In 2019-20 she also worked with Athletics Communications as she created and produced Tune In With The Titans, an Instagram Live series that ran throughout the fall of the 2019 sports calendar.
Gill is currently a representative for the Titans as a member of the Big West Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Lastly, Gill is a Fellow for the Make A Play Foundation.

The honorees will be chosen by the Athletics Academics Services staff. For example, a student-athlete that is also tutor or a member of a leadership committee would be things that could could help an athlete garner the recognition. Titans student-athletes remain busy with their sport responsibilities but still find ways to thrive in the classroom as well as impact the community.
