LOS ANGELES, Calif. – After trailing for over 39 minutes, the Titans were relentless in the fourth quarter, scratching and clawing their way to a 68-68 tie.  With a chance to win, LMU missed two free throws with 1.5 seconds left, forcing overtime.

Overtime, happily, went Fullerton's way as they came away with a 79-74 win to improve to 2-1 on the season.  Two Titans accounted for 71% of Fullerton's total points, as Raina Perez scored 29, and Amiee Book tied her career-high with 27.  Book shot an impressive 6-12 (50%) from behind the 3-point arc as she and Perez helped to lift the Titans to an important victory.  Perez added five assists, and each hauled down six rebounds.

The Titans toughened up defensively in the second half, and eventually tied the taller LMU squad 44-44 in rebounds, and forced 13 turnovers.  5' 9" Joy Krupa led the Titans with 11 rebounds, and was followed closely by Carolyn Gill with nine.  Krupa is proving to be a force on the boards for Fullerton.

Said Harada after the overtime win, "What a great game to be part of, and I'm so proud of our team for our resiliency tonight.  After a rough first half we settled down and were a lot better on both ends.  The fourth quarter was inspiring to see and everyone on the floor made an impact.  Our bench gave us energy the entire night, and our staff was making great adjustments to help us pull this game out.  Bottom line, it was a great win for our team."

Cal State Fullerton will head south on the freeway on Sunday to face San Diego State in a 1:00 p.m. contest at the Viejas Center.  The Titans are hoping to improve their winning streak to three games.

Fullerton will open their home season on Wednesday, November 20, when they host Utah State in a 7:00 p.m. contest in Titan Gym.
