FULLERTON, Calif. - In a year they celebrated their 50th anniversary, the Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team had a very memorable 2018-19 season. In head coach Jeff Harada's second year leading the Titans, the team found their way back into the Big West Tournament for the first time since 2014-15.

Overall, the team finished with a 14-16 record going 6-10 in Big West action. The .467 winning percentage is the best mark since the 2009-10 season when the Titans went 15-17 (.469) overall. For conference play, the six wins is the most in a season for the Titans since the 2013-14 season.

The Titans had a very successful non-conference schedule going 8-5, the best mark for the program since 1990-91 when the team sported an 11-4 record heading into conference play. Part of that terrific non-conference success was a five-game winning streak as the Titans took down Dartmouth, CSU Bakersfield, Colombia, St. Peter's, and Antelope Valley consecutively. It was the first five-game winning streak since the Titans won five straight back in 2008.

Cal State Fullerton opened up their conference schedule with Hawaii in Titan Gym and on the night they celebrated their 50th anniversary, came out with a 72-68 victory over the Rainbow Wahine. Two games later, the Titans dominated Cal Poly for their 10th win of the season marking the first double-digit win campaign since 2014-15 and the fastest they've reached the 10-win mark since the 1990-91 season.

The Titans entered the third week of conference facing UC Santa Barbara in their first game of the week. On the road, Fullerton took down the Gauchos snapping a seven-game losing skid to UCSB and came out with their first win in the Thunderdome since 2014. Six games later, the Titans would then host UCSB in Titan Gym coming out with a 74-62 victory. It is the first time since 1991, CSF has pulled off a season sweep of Santa Barbara.

Fullerton would pick up two more wins before the regular season ended with the final victory coming in a buzzer-beating thriller at rival Long Beach State. Trailing by as many as 18 points early in the game, the Titans battled all the way back to win it on Raina Perez's three-pointer as the horn sounded.

Entering their first tournament action in five years, the Titans faced the 49ers in the opening round of the Big West Tournament. The teams battled back-and-forth, but ultimately the Titans came up short and their season would come to an end.

In the end of the year accolades, Fullerton had three Titans garner All-Big West awards highlighted by freshman Amiee Book being named Best Sixth Player. Book was also named to the All-Freshman team while Daeja Smith took home a First Team selection and Raina Perez earned an honorable mention. It marks the first time since the 2014-15 season there were multiple Big West award recipients for the Titans.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

• Daeja Smith finishes her career with 1,199 points, 857 rebounds, and 146 blocks. She is just the second player in program history to accumulate 1,000-plus points, 800-plus rebounds, and 100-plus blocks with the legendary Genia Miller being the only other one to do it.
• Smith ranks 2nd all-time in blocks, 3rd all-time in rebounds, 3rd all-time in double-doubles, 9th all-time in field goal percentage, and 13th all-time in scoring.
• Jade Vega finishes her career with 1,103 points and 393 assists. She is one of just six Titans in program history to accumulate 1,000-plus points and 350-plus assists.
• Smith and Vega became the 24th and 25th players to reach the 1,000-point mark this season and the first pair of teammates to do so since the 2011-12 season.
• Hannah Thompson, in her two years, put her name in the record books ranking 5th all-time shooting 35.0% from three.
• Amiee Book became only the second Titan to win the Big West Sixth Player of the Year with the other being Amber Pruitt in 2005.
• As it currently stands, Book is the all-time three-point percentage leader at Fullerton (min. 100 attempts). She shot a blistering 43.2% from beyond the arc to lead the conference in her freshman campaign.
