WBB Set for First Big West Conference Tournament Appearance Since 2014-15

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's basketball is set for their first Big West Conference Tournament appearance since the 2014-15 season. The Titans will be the No. 6 seed and face the No. 7 seed Long Beach State on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m at the Bren Events Center on the campus of UC Irvine. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.

FROM THE TIP
• This is the first tournament appearance for the Titans since the 2014-15 season, where the Titans advanced to the semi-finals before being knocked out by Hawaii.
• Overall, Fullerton is 15-23 (.395) in the Big West Conference Tournament history.
• The last time, the Titans were a #6 seed in the tournament, they were eliminated in the opening round by LBSU back in 2013-14.
• The 14-15 (.483) overall record marks the best finish for the program since 2006-07 when the team finished 16-16 (.500).
• Three Titans took home All-Big West honors including Amiee Book being named Best Sixth Player. Book was also named to the All-Freshmen Team while Daeja Smith earned a First Team selection and Raina Perez earned an honorable mention.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS
This season marks the 50th anniversary of women's basketball at Cal State Fullerton. The program made its debut in the 1969-70 season and won the CIAW National Championhip that year. The program's history was celebrated January 5 against Hawaii.

A GRAND ACCOMPLISHMENT
Seniors Daeja Smith and Jade Vega became the 24th and 25th players in program history to surpass the 1,000-point mark for their careers. Smith sits at 1,187 points for her career while Vega is at 1,098 career points.

EXCLUSIVE CLUBS
Daeja Smith has 851 career rebounds to go along with her 1,187 points making her just the third Titan in program history to accumulate 1,100-plus career points and 850-plus career rebounds.

Jade Vega has 390 career assists to go with 1,098 points making her just the sixth player in program history to have 1,000-plus career points and 350-plus career assists.

NUMBER ONE SHARPSHOOTER
Amiee Book has been tremendous this season shooting 104-208 (50%) from the field and 47-107 (43.9%). The 43.9% makes her the all-time three-point leader in program history (minimum 100 attempts). That mark also ranks third highest in single-season history.

ONE OF THE PROGRAM'S BEST
Daeja Smith will go down as one of the best bigs in Cal State Fullerton's history. Besides clipsing the 1,000-point mark, she ranks second all-time in blocks (144), third in rebounds (851), third in double-doubles (32), and ninth in field goal percentage (49.3%).

PASSING OUT DIMES
Jade Vega dishes out assists with the best of them and it shows in the record book. She is just 10 shy of 400 career assists ranking fifth most all-time at 390 total.

THE SPLASH SISTERS
Amiee Book and Hannah Thompson can shoot the lights out from beyond the arc. In the career record books, Book ranks first all-time (43.9%) while Thompson ranks seventh all-time (34.8%).

A MIRACULOUS COMEBACK CAPPED OFF BY A BUZZER BEATER
The Titans will face rival Long Beach in the opening round of the tournament after meeting less than a week ago. The Titans trailed by as many as 18 points, but battled all the way back to win it at the buzzer courtesy of a Raina Perez three as the horn sounded.

NO FOUL PLAY HERE
The Titans do a great job of keeping the foul game to a minimum averaging just 14.3 fouls per game. That number ranks 26th best in the NCAA while their 414 total fouls is the 16th fewest in the country.
