WBB Set to Host UC Irvine on Fan Appreciation Day; Head to Hawai'i

FULLERTON, Calif. – Fullerton will host fan appreciation day against UC Irvine at Titan Gym on Wednesday at 7:00pm. The Titans will compete against Hawaii the following Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu starting at 5:00pm.

Cal State Fullerton (12-13, 4-8 Big West) is coming off of a 1-1 week against Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara. The Titans took a loss against the Cal Poly Mustangs with a final score of 58-69. Three Titans scored in double figures as Raina Perez led the team with 16 points and two rebounds. Perez is the second leading scorer this season with a total of 274 points. Amiee Book followed with 16 points, two rebounds and four assists. Book has posted a total of 231 points this season with 105 rebounds. Hannah Thompson posted 13 points and three rebounds for Fullerton, while Carolyn Gill led the Titans with 8 rebounds. UC Santa Barabara fell to Cal State Fullerton with a final score of 74-62 where Raina Perez led the team scoring 18 points and Daeja Smith led the team in rebounds with a total of 11. Jade Vega contributed six assists along with 16 points and seven rebounds.

The UC Irvine Anteaters (17-7, 7-5 Big West) finished up last week with a win against Hawaii posting a final score of 53-48 and a tough loss against UC Riverside scoring 65-66. UC Irvine's leading scorer, Jordan Sanders, has scored a total of 474 points this season along with a team high 166 rebounds. Sanders led the team in points against UC Riverside and Hawaii, scoring double figures both games. Lauren Saiki, posting 275 points this season, scored double figures against UC Riverside and Hawaii as well. UC Irvine took the win against Cal State Fullerton earlier in the season with a tight score of 65-61, giving Fullerton a chance to redeem themselves in the last match up between the two teams for the season.

Hawaii (11-15, 7-6 Big West) are coming off of a pair of losses last week against UC Davis and UC Irvine. The Rainbow Wahine fell to UC Irvine with a final score of 48-53. Jadynn Alexander led the team with double figures, 10 points, against the Anteaters while Lahni Salanoa followed closely behind with nine points. Both Tia Kanoa and Myrrah Joseph posted nine points in the match against UC Davis, which ended with a final score of 72-46. Kanoa is one of the leading shooters for Hawaii with a total of 177 points this season and 103 rebounds, while Joseph follows with 107 points. Hawaii took a loss against Cal State Fullerton earlier in the season with a final score of 72-68 and will be facing them again this Saturday for their final match up.
