FULLERTON, Calif. – Senior Daeja Smith has been named to the Big West Preseason All-Conference team. The coach and media voting results were announced Wednesday by the Big West Conference.
Smith is coming off her best season so far where she earned an All-Big West Second Team selection. The redshirt senior led the team with 12.5 points per game (tenth in BWC), 9.3 rebounds per game (third in BWC) and 1.2 blocks per game (seventh in BWC). For the 2017-18 season, she totaled 350 points and 259 rebounds giving her 808 points and 597 rebounds for her career. She is just the fifteenth Titan in program history to reach 800-plus points and 500-plus rebounds. On the defensive side of the ball, Smith moved into second all-time with 100 career blocks after having 34 last season.
This is the first time the Titans have been represented on the All-Big West preseason team since Megan Richardson in 2011.

The Titans will see their first game action on Nov. 1 in an exhibition game against Concordia at Titan Gym. Fullerton's 2018-19 season opener will be five days later on Nov. 6 at Seattle.
