FULLERTON, Calif. - Coming off an exciting 2013-14 campaign, Cal State Fullerton now looks forward to its second season under head coach Daron Park, as the Titans' announced their rigorous 29-game schedule Thursday morning.

Cal State Fullerton's 2014-15 slate will feature eight teams that were either in the NCAA tournament or WNIT postseason tournaments a year ago, with five of those matchups appearing in the non-conference schedule.

"I'm very excited about our upcoming non-conference schedule," said Park.  "I think it is a great schedule filled with great tests that ultimately will prepare us for the Big West Conference."

Fullerton begins the campaign with an exhibition contest versus Cal Baptist on Friday, Nov. 7 at Titan Gym before officially opening the season on Nov. 16 with the first of 13 home games this season versus coach Park's alma mater, Montana State (15-15, 10-10 Big Sky).

"I love being able to start a home-and-home series with Montana State," said Park. "People know my love for my alma mater, and Head Coach Tricia Binford reached out to set this up and I jumped at the chance. It will be a very special way to open the season and one of the few times I will be rooting against the Bobcats."

Fullerton will then travel to San Diego on Nov. 18 to face the San Diego Toreros, a team that finished 24-9 overall last season and advanced to the third round of the WNIT before falling to the University of Washington, 62-55. After USD, the Titans will host Villanova for the very first time in the program's history on Nov. 21 at Titan Gym. A member of the Big East Conference, Villanova also competed in the WNIT last season, but loss to George Washington in the second round.

Next the Titans will begin a challenging stretch of what will be a season-high six consecutive games away from Titan Gym. The road trip will start in Ogden, Utah to square off against Weber State on Nov. 24 and then the Titans will fly to New Mexico to participate in the Aggie Hotel Encanto Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by New Mexico State on Nov. 28-29 (opponents currently TBA).

After Thanksgiving, the Titans will continue their road trip with a string of games versus opponents from last season (Denver, South Dakota, and Fresno State). Cal State Fullerton will take on Denver on Dec. 3 and they will face each other for the second year in a row. Last season the Titans defeated the Pioneers 63-56. Denver ended up falling one game short of advancing to the NCAA tournament after losing to South Dakota, 82-71, in the Summit League Championship game.

The Titans opened the 2013-14 season with South Dakota at Titan Gym and will make a return trip to Vermillion, S.D. on Dec. 6 and then take on the Fresno State Bulldogs (2013 NCAA participant- first round) on Dec. 14 in Fresno, Calif.

The Titans return to Fullerton for three-straight contests at home, including games vs. North Dakota State on Dec. 19, Albany on Dec. 21, and UMKC on Dec. 31. Albany, the 2013 America East Champions, will be another great test for the Titans at home.

Fullerton will round out its non-conference schedule at Seattle on Jan. 4 before it returns home to Titan Gym where Fullerton will start Big West Conference play.

"Villanova and Albany are two great teams that we get the opportunity to play here at home.  Both are extremely well-coached. We played Albany last year at their place and they are extremely talented. We will have to be at our best early to compete with those teams. Certainly tough road trips in state to Fresno State and San Diego, but it's important to play those teams.  They are what we are aspiring to be eventually. "

The Titans will tip off their 16-game Big West slate at home versus UC Riverside on Jan. 8 before traveling to UC Irvine (Jan. 15) and UC Davis (Jan. 17).

The Big West Tournament is set for the second week of March. The first round and quarterfinals will be held at Titan Gym, March 10-11, while the semifinals (March 13) and finals (March 14) will be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host the first two rounds of the Big West Tournament. It's a great feeling to know your administration believes in your program and understands how hosting can impact your season. While our ultimate goal is to win the Big West regular season, to be able to get a bye in the first two rounds, its comforting to know we could play a postseason game at home." 

Cal State Fullerton finished the 2013-14 with an overall record of 12-18 and finished tied for sixth in the Big West with a mark of 8-8, before losing to Long Beach State in the first round of the Big West Tournament.

10 Games During 2014-15 to Watch For…

Nov. 16 vs. Montana State – Season opener for the Titans and coach Park facing his alma mater.

Nov. 21 vs. Villanova – First time the Titans will square off against the Wildcats in school history. Also, a tough test vs. a 2014 WNIT team (23-9 overall, 12-6 Big East Conference).

Dec. 6 at South Dakota – Early season road test for the Titans versus the 2013 Summit League Champions and rematch of last year's season opener that South Dakota won 66-57 at Titan Gym.

Dec. 14 at Fresno State – A week after facing off against South Dakota, the Titans will travel north to face another NCAA Tournament team from a year ago.

Dec. 21 vs. Albany – 2014 NCAA Tournament team and America East defending champions comes to Titan Gym to face the Titans.

Jan. 8 vs. UC Riverside – Big West Season and home opener

Jan. 31 at Long Beach State – First time the two teams will play since the Titans fell to the 49ers in the 2014 Big West Tournament first round at The Pyramid.

Feb. 28 vs. Long Beach State – The Titans and 49ers square off for the second time during the 2014-15 season, but this time at Titan Gym.
