FULLERTON, Calif—UC Davis shot 30-of-50 from the field for 60 percent for the game, as the Aggies raced past Cal State Fullerton, 88-44, Thursday night at Titan Gym.

Alyson Doherty scored 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, while Cortney French and Aniya Baker combined to pour in 30 points, going 7-of-11 from downtown, en route to handing Fullerton its worst home loss in 12 seasons.

For the third consecutive game, Alex Thomas led the Titans scoring, as she recorded nine points, two assists, and two rebounds in the loss.

Cal State Fullerton (7-11, 3-3 Big West) led for a total of 15 seconds in the game, after Mya Olivier scored a lay-up to give the Titans a 6-4 advantage with 16:32 left in the first half. Blair Shinoda immediately responded at the other end by nailing a three-pointer to vault the Aggies back in front, 7-6 with 16:17 left in the half.

From then on, UC Davis (7-10, 2-4 Big West) never looked back, as it converted on 11-of-20 first half field goal attempts, including 5-of-9 from three-point land to eventually take a commanding 37-22 lead into intermission.

While the Aggies were making buckets, the Titans were floundering for answers, both offensively and defensively, as they converted on just 9-of-34 field goal attempts for 26.5 percent in the first half. Kathleen Iwuoha and Thomas led the team in scoring at the break with just four points each.

Fullerton tried to hang tough, as it made three of its first five field goal attempts to begin the second half, but what normally is a stingy Titan defense, was anything but Thursday night, as UC Davis matched Fullerton shot-for-shot.

In fact, the Aggies got better offensively as the game went on, as they connected on 19-of-30 second half field goal attempts for 63.3 percent.

UC Davis outscored Fullerton 29-14 within a 10-minute span to double its halftime lead at 66-36 with 9:30 left to play. The Titans never got any closer than 29 points before UC Davis built the lead to as high as 44 points, which is where it would stay at the end of the night.

The Titans will shake this one off and try to avoid dropping their third consecutive game when they take on the Big West-leading Pacific Tigers Saturday at 3 p.m. in Titan Gym.

Game Notes: The loss is the Titans' worst overall defeat since losing 101-52 at Gonzaga on Dec. 23, 2010…It is the worst home loss since falling to Long Beach State 94-45 on Feb. 11, 2001...Lauren Bushong's two blocks tonight moves into fourth place on the school's all-time career blocks list with 66 career blocks. She's one swat away from tying Heather Hansen for  third on the list (67).
