Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton wraps up its seemingly hexed 2008 men's soccer season this week with a final home match on Wednesday night vs. Cal State Northridge and a late afternoon contest at UC Riverside on Saturday.
Seniors Ryan Kaylor, Jacob Shumway, Joshua Meyer and Kevin Puder and their parents will be acknowledged prior to Wednesday night's 7 p.m. kickoff.
Northridge is in a battle for one of the four post-season tournament berths while UC Riverside and Fullerton are vying to avoid the cellar. Fullerton beat the Highlanders, 3-1, and lost at Northridge, 3-2 in overtime, in their first meetings this season.
Fullerton had only one match last week and it resulted in a 2-1 loss at UC Irvine. The first Anteaters' goal was a Fullerton own goal when defender Meyer's attempt to clear the ball went into the upper corner of the net. Michael Denny scored for Fullerton to make it a 2-1 match at halftime but neither team scored after intermission.
