Eugene Brooks Makes All-Academic Team

Fullerton, Calif. - Senior forward Eugene Brooks of Cal State Fullerton has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 men's soccer first team and is now eligible for the Academic All-American team.

The announcement was made today by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The 88 players on the eight 11-man all-district teams make up the ballot for All-American voting which begins Tuesday.

Brooks is the leading goal scorer in the Big West Conference with 11 goals with one match remaining, Saturday night vs. Cal Poly SLO. His total is tied for ninth best on the Titans' list of single-season totals. The El Paso, Texas, native is a bio-chemistry major with a grade point average of 3.84 on a scale of 4.0.

The only other Big West player on the District 8 squad is UC Riverside goalkeeper Charles Alamo.
