Special Night for Brett

Special Night for Brett

Oct. 18, 2010

Fullerton, Calif. - This past Saturday night the Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team "adopted" 7-year old Brett Aurin, who was born with craniosynostosis and has since developed an inoperable brain tumor.

The youngster and his family from Lake Forest were on hand for the Titans' match against cross-street rival Hope International. Sporting his own Titan jersey, Brett was announced with his teammates, participated in the official coin toss and also provided the game's ceremonial first kick. Fullerton won the game, 1-0.

The Titans "found" Brett through The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, which connects pediatric tumor victims with sports teams at various levels for support. The Titans officially introduced Brett as a team member in pre-game ceremonies. He has his own locker in the clubhouse and is part of the team's electronic communication lists.

Watch the Titans making a difference in this young man's life in an 8-minute video.
