Soccer Gains New 'Teammate'

June 17, 2010

Fullerton, Calif. - The newest member of the Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team is 5-year-old Brett Aurin, who picked up his Titan jersey and his locker room assignment on June 5 in a visit with many of his new "teammates" as part of their affiliation with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

Brett was born with craniosynostosis and underwent surgery at age 3 months, at which time a brain tumor was discovered. He has a twin broter, Kyle, who was present along with the rest of the family when Brett became part of the team.

"Our relationship with Brett and his family will be a long term commitment to offer love, support and friendship," said Fullerton Head Coach Bob Ammann. "We are excited to have Brett and his family join our 'Titan Soccer Family'."

The mission of the foundation is to improve the quality of life for children living each day with pediatric brain tumors.

Brett has a page on Caring Bridge, where people can leave messages of encouragement for him and his family. The website is located at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/brettaurin/journal.
