Four NCAA Teams on Tap

May 13, 2010

Fullerton, Calif. - Four NCAA tournament teams, three Pac-10 opponents and two each from the Big East and the West Coast Conferences highlight the Cal State Fullerton men's soccer schedule for 2010.

The Titans also scrimmage a fourth Pac-10 team in California before beginning the season at the Saint Mary's Tournament where they open against the NCAA tournament veteran Gaels. The Titans host a tournament featuring San Jose State, Washington and Cal State Northridge and then travel to Morgantown for the West Virginia Tournament featuring the host Mountaineers and Pittsburgh. The first single home match is Sept. 26 vs. perennially powerful UCLA.

"We look forward to the challenge the schedule presents and the continuing improvements we have made as a team," said fourth-year Head Coach Bob Ammann. "This group of players has been together for two years and taken their lumps, but they have grown and are ready to use those experiences.

"I feel that our Big West Conference and non-conference opposition will put us in a position to be tested by some of the the best teams in the country."

Besides Saint Mary's and UCLA, the Titans face NCAA tourney teams in Big West rivals UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine, both at home and on the road.

Fullerton was 8-9-2 overall in 2009 and 4-5-1 in the Big West.
