Fullerton, Calif. - German Moreno's first goal of the year and No. 12 by Big West Conference leader Eugene Brooks lifted Cal State Fullerton to a 2-0 men's soccer victory over Cal Poly SLO Saturday night in the two teams' season finales.

The Titans end up 7-11-1 overall and 3-7-0 in the Big West while Cal Poly finishes 7-7-5 and 3-4-3.

Moreno headed in a corner kick from Jacob Shumway in the 27th minute to put Fullerton ahead. It was the first collegiate goal for the junior defender from Long Beach who was playing in his 52nd career match.

Brooks, a senior playing in his final Fullerton game, took a textbook through ball from Michael Farfan and beat goalkeeer Eric Branagan-Franco from about 15 yards to make it 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Brooks tied Eddie Soto for eighth-place on the Titans' single-season goal leaders.

Fullerton outshot the visitors, 19-9, and goalkeeper Brent Douglas had to make only one save in posting his first shutout. Most of the Mustangs' shots were blocked.

The closest Cal Poly came to a score was late in the first half when Jose Garcia hit the left post from about 20 yards out on the right side.

Branagan-Franco made two brilliant saves among a total of five. He stopped a strong volley from Brooks from about 15 yards and later came way out of the box to deny Skyler Thuresson on a breakaway.
