FULLERTON, CA - Cal State Fullerton senior forward Jose Barragan netted the golden-goal game-winner just 46 seconds into overtime to lift the host Titans to a 2-1 victory over visiting UNLV on Sunday afternoon at Titan Stadium.

Fullerton improved to 2-5-1 overall on the season with the victory while the Rebels fell to 2-7 overall.

Trailing 1-0 after a second half goal by UNLV's Lamar Neagle, the Titans pulled even with just over four minutes remaining in regulation as Arron Craggs took a short pass from Jacob Shumway, dribbled into the box and nailed a shot to the left post to tie the match at 1-1.

The Titans had a pair of chances in the closing minutes as Eugene Brooks and Barragan missed shots just wide from five yards out, but Barragan didn't miss his next chance in the first overtime.

The ball was cleared downfield by the Titans as Barragan and a UNLV defender were locked in a foot race down the right side. Barragan beat the defender to the ball and then stole it away from a sliding Peter Clitheroe in net, before dribbling out and knocking the game-winner into the wide-open net for his first goal of the season.

Cal State Fullerton outshot UNLV, 22-13, for the match, including a 12-5 margin in a scoreless first half. Barragan and Brooks led all players with five shots each.

Junior goalkeeper Bobby Armstrong made five saves in net for the victory.

The Titans return to action on Wednesday (Oct. 5) as they open Big West Conference play against UC Santa Barbara at Titan Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
