Los Angeles, Calif. - Eric Brunner headed in a corner kick in the 11th minute to break a 1-1 tie and No. 14-ranked Ohio State went on to rout short-handed Cal State Fullerton, 6-1, at the UCLA Men's Soccer Tournament Sunday afternoon.

The Buckeyes improved to 4-1-1 in bouncing back from their first loss of the season on Friday to UCLA. The Titans fell to 3-3 after their third successive loss, all to Big Ten Conference opponents -- also 3-0 to Michigan and 2-0 to Penn State.

Andrew Magill had put Ohio State ahead, 1-0, in the second minute after taking a through ball from goalkeeper Casey Latcham and beating Kevin Puder. Puder, starting in place of Brent Douglas, who was injured vs. Michigan, would come out a minute later due to an abdominal muscle pull in favor of redshirt freshman Tyler Andrews, who made his collegiate debut in the third minute. Seconds later, Skyler Thuresson tied the match with a one-timer from close range on a feed from Peter Kingman and German Moreno.

Ohio State made it 3-1 on a Danny Irizarry goal in the 17th minute and took a 4-1 lead into halftime when Eric Edwards scored in the 32nd minute. OSU added two more goals in the final 20 minutes.

Fullerton plays only one game next week, traveling to Coastal Carolina for a Sunday afternoon contest.
