FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton opened the 2023 season with a 1-1 draw in a friendly match against California Baptist Friday night at Goodwin Field.

CBU jumped out to an early lead, scoring in the fifth minute of play on a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box. Fullerton went into the locker room trailing 1-0 at halftime.

The Titans played much better in the second half of action, outshooting CBU 9-5 and controlling a majority of possession.

Sulaiman Bah scored the equalizer for the Titans in the 73rd minute of play off a corner kick from Mattheos Agapitos. Bah, a first-year transfer, scored his first goal in a Titan uniform while Agapitos recorded his first assist.

Fullerton returns to the training grounds before hitting the road for its season-opener on Aug. 24 against Mercer.
