FULLERTON, Calif. – After recording back-to-back shutouts against UC San Diego and UC Davis, Tetsuya Kadono has been named The Big West Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. 

Kadono recorded seven saves in the Titans 1-0 victory over UC San Diego Wednesday night at Titan Stadium. The first-year transfer followed that up with another shutout in goal against UC Davis while recording three saves to earn a 0-0 draw on the road. 

The Irvine native now has five shutouts on the year and has recorded three consecutive shutouts going back to last week's match against No. 24 UC Santa Barbara. 

Kadono and the Titans are back in action Wednesday as the team heads to Riverside to take on the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m.
