FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer defeat CSU Bakersfield 1-0 Saturday night at Titan Stadium for its first Big West victory of the year. With the win the Titans improve to 6-4-2 and 1-1 in conference play.
Fullerton has been dominant at Titan Stadium all season as they remain undefeated with the win, sporting a 4-0-1 record.
It was a tale of two halves for the Titans as neither team had many opportunities in the first half of action. Fullerton had two shots to Bakersfield's four in the first 45 minutes.
The Titans looked much more like themselves in the second half, being much more creative and creating chances in the attacking zone. The Titans tallied eight shots in the second half to the Roadrunner's two.
Fullerton broke the scoreless tie in the 72nd minute on a goal by Jessy Sotelo that he snuck past the Roadrunner's goalkeeper on the far side of the net after shooting from about 14 yards out.

Sotelo has scored two goals in the Titans first two conference games of the season. Erick Serrano assisted on Sotelo's goal for his third of the year.
Fullerton's defense stifled the Roadrunner's attack all night and clamped down even more after taking the lead, allowing just one shot the rest of the game.

The Titans are back on the pitch Wednesday for another Big West matchup as Cal Poly comes to Titan Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. PT.
