Fullerton Hits the Road to Take On UC Irvine and UC Davis

FULLERTON, Calif. – Coming off of back-to-back shutout victories, the Titans now hit the road looking to maintain last weeks success as they take on UC Irvine Wednesday night at Anteater Stadium before heading north to take on UC Davis.

With just four games remaining in the season, Fullerton is tied for second place with CSUN in the Big West with a conference record of 2-1-1. UC Irvine sits in first place with a 3-0-1 record in conference play.

QUICK HITS
•Cal State Fullerton hits the road for two games this week where they are 3-1-3 this season.
•Fullerton recorded back-to-back shutout victories last week, giving them six for the season.
Robert Coronado is now tied for ninth all-time in the history of the program with 15 assists.
• With the two shutouts last week, Paul-Andre Guerin is now in sole possession of fifth all-time in the history of the program with 14.
•For the first time in the history of the program the Titans won offensive and defensive player of the week in the same week.
Samuel Goni scored the game-winning goal against Sacramento State, giving him a team-high five goals this season.
•Fullerton's 44 wins in Kuntz's first four years since he arrived in 2015 is the most among Big West team's over the four year time period.

OPPONENT AND HISTORY

UC IRVINE
7:00 p.m. | Wednesday, Oct. 17 | Anteater Stadium
Fullerton faces UC Irvine for the 58th time in the history of the two programs. The Titans trail in the all-time matchup with a record of 23-25-9 and are 10-14-4 all-time at Anteater Stadium. Fullerton went 1-1 last year against UCI with a 3-1 win at Anteater Stadium.

UC DAVIS
4:00 p.m. | Saturday, Oct. 20 | Aggie Soccer Field
The Titans and Aggies will square off for the 23rd time in the history of the two programs. Fullerton leads the the all-time match up with a 11-8-3 record. The Titans are 5-5-2 when they travel to Aggie Soccer Field including last season when they won the Big West Tournament Championship in penalty kicks.

TITANS SWEEP PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
For the first time in the history of the program Cal State Fullerton swept the weekly award honors as Paul-Andre Guerin won Big West Defensive Player of the Week and Samuel Goni won Offensive Player of the Week. Goni recorded an assist in the Titans win over Cal Poly while scoring the game-winning goal just 18 seconds into the second half.  

Guerin recorded two clean sheets last week, leading to his second player of week honor this season. It is the first time in the history of the program that Fullerton has won both offensive and defensive player of the week.

GUERIN CEMENTS LEGACY
Goalkeeper Paul-Andre Guerin recorded back-to-back clean sheets last week in the Titans wins against Cal Poly and Sacramento State, giving him six on the season and 14 for his career, placing him tied fifth all-time in the history of the program.  Guerin needs just three more shutouts to move into a tie for fourth place. Mike Ammann holds the record for most shutouts in a career with 19.

CORONADO CRACKS RECORD BOOK
Fifth-year senior Robert Coronado has recorded three assist this season, including two in the Titans last match against St. Francis, giving him 15 for his career, ranking him tied for ninth all-time in the history of the program. Coronado needs just two more assist to move into a tie for eighth all-time and three more to move into a tie for sixth all-time. Matt Bradbury holds the record with 29 assists.
