Big West Release

IRVINE, Calif. –Cal State Fullerton's Alex Heilmann was named College Soccer News' National Player of the Week and the Big West Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week, the conference announced this afternoon.

The senior becomes the fourth Titan all-time to receive the Big West weekly honor twice in a season, joining former Fullerton greats Brent Whitfield, Hector Orellana and Steve George.

Heilmann was key to helping the Titans collect two victories in conference play last week as he gave Fullerton the early lead against UC Irvine and scored the game-winning goal against UC Riverside to give him 10 total on the season. The La Habra native is currently tied with UC Santa Barbara's Kevin Feucht for most goals scored in the Big West.

Overall, the forward has scored three goals in his past four contests and has put Fullerton back in the discussion to win the South Division as the Titans are currently tied with UC Riverside for second with 13 points and only trail division leader CSUN by a single point for the top spot with two conference matches remaining.

Up next for Heilmann and the Titans is their final home match of the regular season which comes against CSUN on Wednesday at Titan Stadium. The match will begin at 7 p.m. PT, but fans are encouraged to come early for senior night festivities prior to the contest.
