Bell’s Goal Extends Titan Win Streak

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Mitchell Bell's header in the third minute proved to be the deciding goal as the Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team recorded a 1-0 victory over Grand Canyon on Sunday evening at GCU Soccer Field.

The Titans (4-3-2) are now on a four-game winning streak as they enter Big West Conference play next week at UC Davis on Thursday and at Sacramento State on Saturday.

Bell recorded his first goal of the season finding the end of Robert Coronado's cross in the third minute and putting the header on frame to the right side, eluding GCU (2-5-1) goalkeeper Luca Licciardi.

Cal State Fullerton outshot the Lopes 10-9, and held a 5-3 edge in corners while the teams combined for 23 fouls.

Titan goalkeeper David Rodriguez Elias (4-1-0) made three saves during his 90 minutes between the pipes.

Notes: Cal State Fullerton now leads the all-time series with Grand Canyon, 2-0…the Titans are on a four-game winning streak for the first time since winning four straight from Sept. 3-16, 2011…Cal State Fullerton shut out its fourth opponent of the year…the Titans won their first road game of 2014…Fullerton has scored 13 goals this season from seven different players this season.
