St. George, Utah - Dakota Duerr and Nick Ellis shot a one-under par 143 to tie for seventh place and lead Cal State Fullerton to a fourth-place team finish Tuesday at the Seventh Annual Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational Men's Golf Tournament at Sunbrook Golf Course.

Duerr carded a 71-72 and Ellis was the reverse at 72-71 to fall 6 shots shy of tourney champion Mason Casper of Utah Valley State, who scored a 7-under par 137. Dixie State won the tourney by 5 strokes at 570 (6 under) ahead of College of Charleston (575), Utah Valley (576) and Fullerton (578, 2 over). Fifth-place British Columbia University was 12 strokes behind the Titans. A dozen teams competed.

Other Fullerton scores were: 145 by Corey Gard, 147 by Scott Rubzin and 150 by Mark Anguiano. The Titans are idle until the March 7-8 Del Walker Invitational in Long Beach.
