PALM DESERT, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf finished tied for ninth with a score of 24-over par 888 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate Sunday afternoon.
The Titans shot a 6-over par 294, but moved down a spot on the final day of the tournament. Texas Tech took first place with a score of 6-under par 858. Skyler Eubank of Boise State held on to the top spot individually with a 9-under par 207.
Derek Castillo led the way individually for the Titans, finishing tied for 10th with a score of even par 216. Castillo moved up from tied for 22nd at the end of round two after shooting a 3-under par 69 in the third and final round. It is Castillo's sixth top-10 finish of his Titans career.
Matt Wilson finished tied for 37th at 6-over par 222. Michael Sharkey placed tied for 52nd after shooting a 9-over par 225. Sharkey's best round came on day three, when he shot a 2-over par 74.
Dalton Daniel finished tied for 62nd place with an overall score of 10-over par 226. Like Sharkey, Daniel had his best round of the tournament in round three and posted the same score of a 2-over par 74.
Jack Dyer finished tied for 91st place with an 18-over par 234. He shot an 8-over 80 in the third and final round of the tournament.
Fullerton is back in action on March 4 when they will play in the Sacramento State Invitational in Elk Grove, California.
