Irving, Texas – Cal State Fullerton men's golf finished the ORU/SFA Challenge Wednesday in fifth place with a 25-over par 877.
Derek Castillo led the way individually for the Titans with a 4-over par 217 to place him in a tie for seventh place. Castillo finished the third and final round strong with his best score of the tournament of 2-under par 70.
The first-year transfer moved up from tied for 19th place after round one and tied for 15th place after round two, to earn his fifth top-10 finish of the season.
Martin Manalo and Dalton Daniel finished the tournament tied for 14th place with a score of 7-over par 220. The 14th place finish for Daniel marks his best placing of his young collegiate career.
Mark Cobey placed tied for 27th with a score of 10-over par 223 while Matt Wilson finished tied for 50th after shooting a 15-over par 228.
Fullerton now gets some time off before heading to the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Phoenix, Arizona Monday April 9-10.
