LONG BEACH, Calif. --- Cal State Fullerton concluded the 21st Del Walker Intercollegiate Tuesday, wrapping up the second and third rounds at the Virginia Country Club in Long Beach, Calif.
The Titans finished in 11th place, posting a 42-over 882 at the tournament, four strokes back of Wichita State for a top-10 finish. Fullerton finished up the second round on Tuesday with a 287, its best round of the tournament. The Titans followed that up with a 298 and finished 27 strokes back of team champions Boise State, which shot a 15-over 855. Cal Poly (859), Pacific (865), CSUN (870) and host Long Beach State (875) rounded out the top-5.
Sophomore Jack Ireland paced the Titans as the team's top individual, finishing the tournament with an 8-over 218, putting him in a tie for 22nd place overall in the 84-player field. He posted eight birdies overall, placing him in the top-20 in the category. Boise State's Brian Humphreys earned medalist honors with a 1-under 209, the only player to record a score under par at the tournament.
Matt Wilson was not far behind his teammate as the sophomore posted a 9-over 219 to finish tied for 26th overall. Michael Sharkey (223, +13) and Martin Manalo (225, +15) rounded out the Titans team scoring, placing tied for 42nd and 51st respectively.
Ty Stites finished in a tie for 66th place overall with a 20-over 230 while C.J. Coleman, competing as an individual, placed 60th overall with a 17-over 227.
The Titans will return to the links on Monday, March 6 at the Sacramento State Invitational at Valley Hi Country Club in Sacramento, Calif.
