FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team returns to Southern California to host the sixth-annual Folino Invitational Presented By Microsemi Corporation at Industry Hills Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Play begins at 7:30 a.m. on Monday for the first 36-holes, and will conclude Tuesday for the final 18-holes at 7:30 a.m.
MICROSEMI CORP. NAMED SPONSOR OF FOLINO INVITATIONAL: For the third consecutive year, Microsemi Corporation serves as the presenting sponsor of the Cal State Fullerton Folino Invitational.
THE COURSE: The two-day event will be contested at the Industry Hills Golf Club, playing at 7,037 yards from the tournament tees (blue tees holes 1, 5, 14, 18)and par 72 for the 54-hole event. Play begins in the morning for the first and second rounds on Monday, while concluding on Tuesday with the final round.
THE FIELD: Competing alongside the Titans will be Cal Baptist, CSU Bakersfield, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Loyola-Chicago, Samford, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Utah Valley.

IN THE RANKINGS: Following the completion of the first five tournaments in the 2015-16 men's golf season, Cal State Fullerton is ranked No. 178 in the nation according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. LAST TIME OUT ON THE LINKS: The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team posted its best score of the weekend in the third round of the Arizona Intercollegiate on Jan. 30 at Sewailo Golf Club, but the improved score wasn't enough to elevate the Titans out of a 15th-place finish.
Fullerton's total score of 61-over-par 913 tied for 15th with Southern Illinois. The Titans shot a third round score of 302 (+18), which was their best round of the tournament.
Texas, then ranked 10th in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, came back from two shots behind then No. 23 Washington to claim the Arizona Collegiate championship with a final score of 9-under-par 843 after firing a third round score of 277 (-7).
Washington (848, -4) finished second followed by No. 21 California (852, E), New Mexico (856, +4) and Washington State (884, +32) to round out the top five.
Freshman Matt Wilson was the top Fullerton finisher as he tied for 38th overall. He completed the three-round tournament with a final score of 11-over-par 224 after a third round score of 74 (+3).
AT FOLINO INVITATIONAL PRESENTED BY MICROSEMI CORPORATION LAST SEASON: The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team completed play at the fifth annual Folino Invitational in ninth place at the Industry Hills Golf Club on Feb. 17, 2015.
The Titans tallied a final score of 920 (+56) after firing a third round 22-over 310 and second round 19-over 307. Sacramento State garnered the team championship logging a total score of 875 (+11), wrapping up the event over 20-strokes ahead of the nearest competitor.
With a total score of 227 (+11), Cal State Fullerton's Ryan Tetrault paced the Titans in the team competition with a tie for 19th place. The senior carded a second round 72 (E), but followed with an 8-over 80 in the final round to fall out of the top 15.

• Fullerton's final score of 843 from the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Sept. 29 ranks third all-time at Cal State Fullerton for the program's 54-hole team score.
• Fullerton's third-place finish at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Wash., was the best for the program since winning the Big West Championship on April 29, 2014.
• Redshirt senior Mark Jensma was the top Titan finisher, as his total score of 209 (-4) tied for ninth at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate. For Jensma, the ninth place finish was the best in his Titan career and the second time he has finished in the top-10. In addition, his second round score of 68 and his total score 209 set career bests.
• Freshman Jack Ireland led the Titans with a 15th place finish at the Southern Dunes Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 4. He was the first freshman to lead Cal State Fullerton since Mark Cobey finished as the top Titan – in 41st place overall – at the Sacramento State Intercollegiate on Mar. 10, 2015.

SEASON SCHEDULE
Cal State Fullerton's 2015-16 campaign features 10 tournaments before the Big West Championship and NCAA Regionals. The Folino Invitational Presented by Microsemi Corporation will again highlight the Titans' season as the sixth-annual tournament has become one of the premier collegiate golf destinations and will be hosted at Industry Hills Golf Club in City of Industry, Calif., on Feb. 15-16. Fullerton will also hit the links outside the state of California, visiting Washington and Arizona twice.
