Titans Finish Third After Day One of Winchester Classic

FULLERTON, Calif. - After the one round of play at the Winchester Classic in Meadows Vista, Calif. co-hosted by UC Davis and the University of Nevada the Cal State Fullerton men's golf team will enter day two in third place after shooting a one-over par (290) as a team. 

The Titans trail conference opponents UC Santa Barbara (-1,287) and UC Davis (+1,289). Nevada and Oklahoma Christian (Div. II) finished the day six-over par (294) round out the top five teams. UC Santa Barbara's Brett Silvernail holds the individual lead after shooting three-under par (69). UC Davis's Ben Corfee, Nevada's Kit Carson, Oklahoma Christitan's Vilhelm Bogstrand, and Cal State Fullerton's Ryan Tetrault all are tied for second place individually after shooting two-under par (70).

Tetrault leads the way for the Titans after shooting two-under par. The sophmore shot a first round 70, while junior Mark Anguiano shot a first round 71 (-1). Anguiano after the first round currently stands tied for sixth.

Junior Corey Gard shot a two-over par (74) and currently stands tied for 17th place. Senior Dakota Duerr and freshman Josh Park both shot a 75 (+3) and will head into day two tied for 24th place.

Play concludes on tomorrow Saturday (Apr. 20) with the second round starting at 11 a.m. The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday (Apr. 21) and will start at 7:40 a.m. There is no live scoring available for the tournament.
