FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball fell to San Diego in Titan Gym on Wednesday night by a score of 66-54. Senior forward Davon Clare recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while senior guard Brandon Kamga led the team in scoring with 16 points.

Fullerton (3-8 overall) trailed 18-17 at the 8:29 mark of the first half and then San Diego (5-7 overall) went on a 17-4 run to end the opening frame and take a 35-21 lead that it would not relinquish. The Titans trimmed the lead to nine at one point in the second half but that was as close as it would get. For the game, USD had three scorers in double figures, led by Braun Hartfield with a game-high 18 points. As a team, they shot 26-62 (41.9%) from the field, just 6-21 (28.6%) from distance and 8-11 (72.7%) at the line. For the Titans, the team shot 21-60 (35.0%) from the floor, 7-25 (28.0%) beyond the arc and 5-8 (62.5%) from the free-throw line.

Clare tied his season-high with 12 points (5-12 FGA, 2-4 3FGA) to go with 10 rebounds and a career-high four blocks. Kamga had 16 points (6-15 FGA, 4-9 3FGA) and three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes off the bench. Senior guard Austen Awosika tallied 10 points, his ninth straight game scoring 10+ and 10th overall this season. He also pitched in five rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes.

The Titans are back in Titan Gym to host San Francisco on Saturday at 2 p.m. PT.
