MBB Drops Season Opener at BYU

Provo, Utah - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball dropped the season opener on Tuesday night by a score of 76-58 at BYU. Senior guard Austen Awosika led the way for the Titans with 16 points to go with six rebounds.

The Cougars led for 34 minutes of the game and gained that control shooting 11-24 (46%) from beyond the arc and 28-57 (49%) overall for the game. Alex Barcello led the way with 17 points on 7-9 shooting including 3-4 from distance. TJ Haws also had 17 points with two rebounds and three assists. The Cougars assisted on 16 of those 28 field goals.

For Cal State Fullerton, it shot 21-57 (37%) from the field and 5-14 (36%) from three. Fullerton tallied just four assists on the night but otherwise matched BYU on team stats. Along with Awosika's 16 points, senior guard Brandon Kamga also was in double figures with 10 points (2-7 FGA, 5-7 FTA).

Next up, the Titans play at Stanford at 8 p.m. PT on Saturday. The game will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network.

 

Your first chance to see the Titans in action for a regular season game will be on Homecoming, Nov. 16, against Stanislaus State. The game is set to begin at 8 p.m. PT.

PARKING
CSUF requires a parking permit for all weekday games. Beginning July 1st, parking on campus will be $10 for an All-Day permit Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Friday until 5pm.  After 5pm on Friday, Permits are not required, as well as on the weekend.  Park and Pay stalls Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm  (Friday until 5pm) are $4 for 1-hour, $8 for 2-hours. Permits can be purchased in parking lots at the permit machines and accept only major credit cards.
