Anaheim, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball advanced to the semifinal of the Big West Tournament on Thursday with a 75-71 overtime victory against UC Davis in the opening round. The Titans were led by senior guards Khalil Ahmad (32 points) and Kyle Allman, Jr. (20 points). Fullerton will face the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on Friday at 9 p.m. PT on ESPNU in the semifinal round.

Cal State Fullerton (15-16, 10-6) led for just 14 minutes of the total 45 minutes and its largest lead was just five points, which came in the final 20 seconds of the game. It was a neck-and-neck game throughout and the Titans were able to pull it out, due in large part to living at the free-throw line. On the night, Fullerton went 23-32 (71.9%) with Ahmad (9-10) and Allman (9-11) leading the charge. From the field, CSF shot 48.0% (28-50) and just 4-13 (30.8%) from distance.

The Aggies had the ball with the shot clock expired in regulation and the Titans got the stop they needed to head to overtime for the third time this season. On the opening possession of the extra period, Allman connected on and-one and the Titans would not relinquish that three-point lead.

Ahmad went 10-17 from the field and 3-6 from three while also chipping in three rebounds, one assist and four steals. Allman shot 5-10 from the floor and 1-2 from distance with three rebounds, three assists and a steal. Junior forward Jackson Rowe tallied eight points, eight rebounds, a team-high four assists and a career-high five blocks.
