FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball added Amel Kuljuhovic to the 2018-19 squad after he signed a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday.

Kuljuhovic, who stands at 6-10, began his collegiate career at Ellsworth Community College and scored 8.5 points per game to go along with 5.4 rebounds. Shooting 56.0 percent from the floor, Kuljuhovic was named an Iowa Community College Athletic Association All-Region Honorable Mention. He was also selected as an academic all-region honoree while at Ellsworth. 

"We are excited to add Amel to our program," head coach Dedrique Taylor said. "His character and academic performance will help us continue building a strong culture that leads to winning. Amel brings a unique combination of skill and size, his ability to score from the three-point line and in the paint will give us the opportunity to be more versatile than we have been up to this point. The future of Titan Basketball is as bright as ever.

Kuljuhovic made the move to Lake Land College (Mattoon, Ill.) for the 2017-18 season and started in 23 of the 24 games he played in. He averaged 17.6 minutes, scored 14.0 points and hauled in 7.7 rebounds per game. He shot 52.8 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 74.3 percent from the stripe.

Originally from Waterloo, Iowa, Kuljuhovic prepped at Waterloo West High School and averaged over 13 points and nine rebounds per game as he earned all-area honors his senior season. 

Kuljuhovic is joining a squad that returns essentially everybody from the 2017-18 team that racked up 20 wins for just the seventh time in school history and made their third trip to the NCAA Tournament. The 20 victories were the most since the Titans captured 21 wins during the 2011-12 campaign.
