Men’s Basketball Falls at UC Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton dropped its first Big West Conference game of the season on Wednesday night at UC Santa Barbara. The Gauchos never trailed as they earned an 83-64 victory. Max Heidegger, the conference's leading scorer, poured in a game-high 24 points to keep UCSB undefeated at home on the year.

Along with Heidegger, four other UC Santa Barbara players scored in double figures in Leland King II (17 points), Jalen Canty (10 points), Marcus Jackson (19 points) and Gabe Vincent (11 points). The Titans turned the ball over 15 times and the Gauchos capitalized, scoring 21 points off those turnovers. UCSB shot 55.7% from the field (34-61) and 42.9 percent (9-21) from distance.

Junior guard Khalil Ahmad led the Titans in scoring with 19 points. Junior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. scored 14 points, dished out five assists and hauled in two rebounds.

The squad resumes Big West play at Long Beach State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. PT on Fox Sports West.
