Men's Basketball Handles UC Davis, 85-70

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball handled UC Davis on Saturday night by a score of 85-70 to move to 11-5 overall and 4-0 in Big West Conference play for the first time since the 1983-84 season. Junior guards Kyle Allman, Jr. (27 points) and Khalil Ahmad (25 points) led the way for the Titans.

Cal State Fullerton (11-5, 4-0) led for 38:35 and the game was tied for 40 seconds. UC Davis' (11-6, 2-1) largest lead of the game was one point, at the 15:02 mark of the first half. The Titans were in control throughout, thanks to a hot shooting start by Allman, Ahmad and sophomore forward Jackson Rowe. At one point early in the game, each of them were 2-2 from beyond the arc and CSF never looked back.

Allman finished with 27 points on 8-15 shooting from the field, 3-6 from distance and 8-8 at the stripe. It is the sixth time this season he has scored more than 20 points. He also had a team-high four assists. Ahmad scored 25 points and shot 5-10 from beyond the arc, marking the sixth time this year he's connected on four or more three-point field goals

The Titans battled foul trouble throughout the game as they were whistled for 24 fouls while UC Davis was charged with 22 fouls. Rowe played just 20 minutes his lowest total for the season against a DI opponent. However, sophomore forward Davon Clare and junior forward Dominik Heinzl provided huge lifts off the bench. Clare tallied four points, five rebounds, three assists and a block in 20 minutes. Heinzl scored nine points, hauled in four rebounds and dished out an assist in 26 minutes.

The Titans shot 49.1 percent (28-57) from the field for the game, 50% (10-20) from beyond the arc and 76.0 percent (19-25) from the charity stripe. Tonight's game marked the third time this season that the Titans have hit 10 or more three-point field goals in a game. It is also the fourth straight game that CSF has shot 45 percent or better from the field. The Titans held UC Davis to just 3-15 from the three-point line.

For UCD, Chima Moneke scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. TJ Shorts II was the only other Aggie in double figures with 13 points and four assists.
