Wednesday, Feb. 22 | Titan Gym

The Titans are riding a three-game winning streak and have won five of their last six as they welcome the Anteaters to Titan Gym on Wednesday. UC Irvine defeated UC Riverside, 79-60, on Saturday night. The Anteaters have also won three straight games going into Wednesday night's match-up after losing three straight to fall out of the top spot in the Big West Conference.

Head-To-Head:

The Titans and Anteaters will meet for the 105th time on Wednesday night and the teams are deadlocked at 52-52. The Anteaters have won 10 straight meetings against Fullerton with the Titans last victory over UC Irvine coming on Feb. 9, 2012; a 100-94 win at Titan Gym. Fullerton swept the season series that year, scoring a 92-84 win at Irvine on Jan. 21, 2012.

Last Meeting:

Cal State Fullerton never led and had a tough shooting night from the field as the Titans fell, 87-67, to UC Irvine in a Big West Conference game Saturday night at Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif. Fullerton (8-9, 2-2) could not get anything going offensively in the first half and trailed the Anteaters (11-9, 4-0) by 17 at halftime. The Titans would make a push in the second half but UC Irvine answered by outscoring Fullerton 24-15 in the final 8:48 to secure the win and stay unbeaten in Big West play. The loss was Fullerton's 10th straight defeat at the hands of the Anteaters. Kyle Allman led the Titans offensively with 13 points on 2-for-5 shooting and a 9-for-10 night at the free throw line. Jackson Rowe added 11 points with four rebounds and Lionheart Leslie tallied nine points. For the Anteaters, Luke Nelson led all scorers with 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting and 3-for-6 from 3-point range while Ioannis Dimakopoulos was a handful for the Titans defense on the inside, scoring 19 points on 9-for-13 shooting.

TITANS AND CONFERENCE PLAY

Cal State Fullerton is in its 43rd season as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association/Big West Conference and hold an overall record of 297-391 all-time. The PCAA changed its name to the Big West Conference in the 1988-89 season and since then, the Titans hold a 194-288 record.  Fullerton won regular season titles in 1975-76 (PCAA) and 2007-08 (Big West) and conference tournament championships in 1977-78 (PCAA) and 2007-08 (Big West). From 1967-74, CSF played in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and posted a 24-36 mark.

LAST TIME OUT - CAL STATE FULLERTON 79, UC DAVIS 72

Tre' Coggins and Kyle Allman combined for 43 points as Cal State Fullerton led wire-to-wire and knocked off then-first place UC Davis, 79-72, Saturday night at Titan Gym. Fullerton forced 20 turnovers on the night and turned them into 22 points while also getting great all-around efforts from Jackson Rowe and Darcy Malone. The win pulled the Titans within two games of first place in the conference.

THE WILD WEST

Fullerton currently sits in the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Big West Conference Tournament. The Titans are just a two games back of UC Irvine for the top spot in the Big West. The No. 1 and No. 5 seeds are separated by just 2.5 games with No. 6 UC Riverside 4.5 games back of the top spot. Hawai'i, which holds the sixth best record in the conference, is ineligible for the Big West Tournament this year.

HANDS IN THE COOKIE JAR

The Titans defense has been solid during its current streak of five wins in six games and they have particularly excelled in the steals department. Fullerton recorded a season-high 12 steals in Saturday night's victory over UC Davis and have recorded 45 steals in the past five games with at least seven in each game. They are averaging nine steals per game during the stretch and increased their season average to 6.5 steals a game. In conference play, the Titans are averaging seven thefts per night.

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!

Cal State Fullerton center Darcy Malone had a career night on the defensive end in Saturday night's victory over UC Davis. Malone protected the paint with a career-high four blocked shots, surpassing his previous career best of three at Mississippi State on Jan. 31, 2015 as a member of LSU. Malone also tied his career best with three steals and played a career-best 30 minutes in the victory.

ALL AROUND EFFORT FROM ROWE

Freshman Jackson Rowe did not light it up on the scoring front against UC Davis but contributed in other facets. He set new career highs with five assists, three blocks and three steals while also shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and sinking his only 3-point attempt in 33 minutes.

BLOCK PARTY

Darcy Malone and Jackson Rowe were the only two Titans to record a blocked shot in Saturday night's win over UC Davis, but the front-court duo combined for seven rejections, the most by a Titans in a Big West Conference game this year and tied for the second most in a game this season. Fullerton recorded eight blocks on Dec. 10 against Southern Utah and seven rejections on at San Diego on Dec. 7.

ALLMAN HAS SOLID WEEK

Kyle Allman hit the game-winning layup with 17 seconds left in last week's win at UC Riverside and then followed that up with 17 points on 4-for-5 shooting and a 9-for-13 effort from the charity stripe in Saturday night's win against UC Davis. Allman logged his 13th double-digit output of the season and fifth in his last seven games.

TRIPLE DOUBLE

All 13 of Fullerton's wins this season have come when three or more Titans score in double figures. Fullerton is 8-4 when three players record double digits, 2-2 when four players hit 10 or more and 3-0 when five or more players eclipse the 10-point mark.

TITANS TEAM RANKS

The Titans are second in the Big West Conference in blocks per game (4.0) and total blocks (99), defensive rebounds per game (26.76) and overall rebounding at 37.32 a game. Additionally, Fullerton is ranked third in the Big West in scoring average (74.6 ppg), second in field goal percentage (45.6%), and third in field goal percentage defense (42.4%).

PAINT BY NUMBERS

Cal State Fullerton has outscored its opponents 802-631 in the paint this season. The Titans have been outscored in the paint four times this season after UCR outscored them 32-20 on Feb. 16. Prior to that, Fullerton had not been outscored in the paint since Jan. 14 at UC Irvine.
