DAVIS, Calif. --- Cal State Fullerton takes on first-place UC Davis in a critical Big West Conference match-up Wednesday night at The Pavilion in Davis, Calif.

OPPONENTS & HISTORY

UC Davis | 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 8 | The Pavilion

The Titans and Aggies will meet for the first time this season when Fullerton heads to The Pavilion on Wednesday night. UC Davis currently sits atop the Big West Conference standings with a 14-9 overall record and 6-2 record in conference play, half a game ahead of second-place UC Irvine and two games up on the Titans in the standings. The Aggies split both of their games last week, suffering an upset loss at Cal Poly before edging last-place UCSB by three points on Saturday.

Head-To-Head:

The Titans lead the head-to-head series against the Aggies, 14-12. Fullerton won its first three meetings against the Aggies, taking the inaugural match-up on Dec. 21, 1961 and sweeping a non-conference home-and-home series in 2005. Since the Aggies joined the Big West Conference for the 2005-06 season, the teams are an even 11-11 in conference play. The teams have met once in the Big West Conference Tournament with the Aggies taking that game, 68-65, on March 11, 2010.

Last Meeting:

Cal State Fullerton limited UC Davis to just 22 percent shooting in the second half as the Titans snapped a six-game losing streak with a 61-57 victory over the Aggies on Feb. 4, 2016. Khalil Ahmad led the Titans with a game-high 19 points while Kyle Allman added 13 and Tre' Coggins scored 10 as Fullerton out-rebounded the Aggies 51-33 including a 15-6 edge on the offensive glass.

TITANS AND CONFERENCE PLAY

Cal State Fullerton is in its 43rd season as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association/Big West Conference and hold an overall record of 294-390 all-time. The PCAA changed its name to the Big West Conference in the 1988-89 season and since then, the Titans hold a 191-287 record.  Fullerton won regular season titles in 1975-76 (PCAA) and 2007-08 (Big West) and conference tournament championships in 1977-78 (PCAA) and 2007-08 (Big West). From 1967-74, CSF played in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and posted a 24-36 mark.

LAST TIME OUT - CAL STATE FULLERTON 79, UC SANTA BARBARA 53

Cal State Fullerton dominated UC Santa Barbara Thursday night en route to a 79-53 victory at The Thunderdome in Isla Vista, Calif.

The Titans (10-11, 4-4) had five players score in double figures, led by guard Tre' Coggins and his 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting. Coggins was 6-for-9 from beyond the arc as the team collectively hit nine 3-pointers against the Gauchos (3-17, 1-7). Austen Awosika scored 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting in just 13 minutes off the bench while Jackson Rowe, Kyle Allman, and Khalil Ahmad each added 11 points. Maxwell Kupchak led the Gauchos with 10 points, the only player to reach double figures for UCSB as the Titans held the hosts to just 35.2 percent shooting. The Titans also held guard Gabe Vincent to nine points in 16 minutes of action. The Gauchos guard came into Thursday night's game as the fourth leading scorer in the Big West. He was averaging 15.1 points a game and was held to single digits just twice this season prior to Thursday.

THE WILD WEST

The Titans are sitting in seventh place in the conference but only trail UC Davis in the Big West standings by two games. Fullerton is also just 1.5 games back of second-place UC Irvine and one game back of CSUN. The top eight teams are separated by 4.5 games with four weeks left in the 2016-17 regular season.

FIVE GUYS

Thursday night's win over UC Santa Barbara marked the third time this season and second straight occasion in which Fullerton had five players score in double figures. The Titans are undefeated this season when they get that type of production.

ALLMAN SETS CAREER BESTS

Kyle Allman logged his third straight game in double figures at Santa Barbara and also set career highs with seven rebounds and six assists. It marked the first time in Allman's 51-game Titans career that he led or tied for the team lead in rebounds in a game.

PERFECTION

Freshman Austen Awosika scored 12 points in just 13 minutes off the bench for the Titans in Fullerton's win at UC Santa Barbara. Awosika was flawless from the floor, going 5-for-5 from the field and 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.

THUNDER UP

The Titans victory over UC Santa Barbara snapped a five-game losing streak to the Gauchos and marked the first time Fullerton has won in The Thunderdome since Jan. 10, 2009. It also tied for Fullerton's biggest victory over UCSB in program history. The Titans beat UCSB 84-58 on Feb. 12, 1983 in Santa Barbara. Thursday also marked the Titans biggest win over the Gauchos since March 1, 1997, a 74-60 win at Titan Gym. It was also the biggest win in Santa Barbara since Feb. 18, 1984 when Fullerton scored a 77-57 win.

TITANS TEAM RANKS

The Titans are second in the Big West Conference in blocks per game (3.9) and total blocks (79), defensive rebounds per game (27.81) and overall rebounding at 38.29 a game. Additionally, Fullerton is ranked third in the Big West in scoring average (75.8 ppg), second in field goal percentage (46.0%), and field goal percentage defense (42.0%).
