OPPONENTS & HISTORY

CSUN | 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 7 | Titan Gym

The Titans will wrap up a stretch of four straight home games Saturday night against CSUN. The Matadors enter the game after winning their conference opener over UC Riverside, 82-76, on Wednesday at The Matadome. CSUN is the top-ranked scoring offense in the Big West, averaging 79.6 points per game while the Titans are ranked second at 77.4 per game.

Head-To-Head:

The Titans and Matadors will meet for the 76th time on Saturday night with CSUN winning the last three meetings including a season sweep in 2015-16. It will be the 31st time the teams will meet in conference play with the Titans holding a 16-14 edge in those contests,.

Last Meeting:

Fullerton saw a nine-point second-half lead slip away as the Matadors used a 15-0 scoring run to surge ahead and eventually claim a 75-67 victory over the Titans at the Matadome to complete the season sweep. The Titans had four players tally double figures, led by Lionheart Leslie's 14 points to go along with nine rebounds. Khalil Ahmad added 13 points and three assists while Kyle Allman added nine points and a team-high three steals.

TITANS AND CONFERENCE PLAY

Cal State Fullerton is in its 43rd season as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association/Big West Conference and hold an overall record of 291-386 all-time. The PCAA changed its name to the Big West Conference in the 1988-89 season and since then, the Titans hold a 188-283 record.  Fullerton won regular season titles in 1975-76 (PCAA) and 2007-08 (Big West) and conference tournament championships in 1977-78 (PCAA) and 2007-08 (Big West). From 1967-74, CSF played in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and posted a 24-36 mark.

PRESEASON PREDICTIONS

Khalil Ahmad and Tre' Coggins were both named to the Big West Media Preseason All-Conference Team. The Titans' guard combo matched the most players on the team by one school along with Long Beach State. In addition, the Titans were picked to finish sixth in the conference this year, receiving 83 total points in the Big West Conference Media Preseason Poll. Long Beach State received 19 first-place votes and 203 points overall as the favorite to win the conference.

LAST TIME OUT - CAL STATE FULLERTON 67, HAWAI'I 64

Cal State Fullerton recorded its first ever Big West Conference win over Hawai'i since it joined the conference in 2012-13 by a score of 67-64, Thursday night at Titan Gym. Lionheart Leslie led the Titans (7-7, 1-0) in scoring with 14 points and Davon Clare recorded his fourth straight double-digit rebounding effort against the Rainbow Warriors (6-8, 0-1), pulling down a game-high 10 boards. Fullerton also held the Rainbow Warriors to just 34.4 percent shooting from the field and 19 percent (4-of-21) from beyond the arc.

DC ON THE BOARDS

Freshman Davon Clare grabbed 10 rebounds in Thursday's win over Hawai'i, the fourth straight game in which he recorded double digits on the glass. He is currently second on the team in rebounding at 5.1 rebounds a game trailing only Jackson Rowe at 6.4 per game. Clare has achieved those numbers averaging 18.1 minutes a game and without the benefit of a start this season. Only Tommy Rutherford (5.4 RPG) of UC Irvine has averaged more rebounds per game as a reserve than Clare in the Big West. Clare has also posted the best total rebound percentage (15.0) on the Titans for players that have played more than 150 minutes this year, which measures the estimated percentage of all available rebounds grabbed while on the floor.

THAT'S STILL OFFENSIVE

Fullerton has put together impressive numbers on the offensive glass in the past four games. The Titans have grabbed double-digit offensive rebounds in all four games with a 69-44 advantage on that end, which has led to a 63-32 edge in second-chance points. Fullerton has won three of those four games, with the loss coming in overtime at Omaha.

ALLMAN LEADS THE RESERVES VS. HAWAII

Kyle Allman scored 11 points on 3-for-7 shooting and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line in Thursday's win over Hawai'i. It was his first game scoring in double figures since he dropped 12 points against Southern Utah on Dec. 10, although that came in a start. It was his second double-digit output as a reserve this season, the last coming in a win over Pacific on Dec. 3. Overall, Cal State Fullerton's reserves have outscored opponents' subs 379-277 this season.

SHOOTING STAR

Freshman Jackson Rowe is currently leading the Titans and is second in the Big West in shooting percentage. He has shot 48-for-79 (.608) from the field this year and has also shot the 3-pointer well, going 7-for-14 (.500). He's also leading the team in rebounding (6.4 RPG) and second on the squad in free-throw shooting (.712). Rowe has played in all 14 games this season and shot 50 percent or better in all but four games.

TRE'  BIEN!

Despite going scoreless in the first half and missing the final 16:53 of the period with foul trouble against Hawai'i, senior Tre' Coggins still made an impact offensively as he scored seven second-half points in Fullerton's first win over the Rainbow Warriors since 2008. Coggins continues to lead both the Titans and the Big West in scoring at 19.3 points per game, which also ranks 59th in the nation. He also leads the team and the conference in free-throw shooting (.865), which ranks 52nd in the country. In addition, Coggins leads the conference in average 3-point field goals made per game at 3.42 per game, which ranks  14th nationally. His 41 overall 3-pointers made ranks first in the conference and 66th nationally.

TITANS TEAM RANKS

The Titans lead the conference in blocks per game (4.0) and are second in total blocks (56). The Titans also lead the Big West and are ranked 11th nationally in defensive rebounds per game, pulling down 29.64 per game. Overall, the Titans lead the conference in rebounding at 39.93 a game, a mark that ranks 38th in the country. Additionally, Fullerton is ranked second in the Big West in scoring average (77.4 ppg), field goal percentage (46%), and field goal percentage defense (40.3%).
